Russian-Myanmar cooperation is accelerating! Construction of a natural fertilizer plant will start in December.
The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development of Myanmar is actively promoting the project of a natural fertilizer factory in cooperation with Russia, and plans to officially start construction in December this year.
On December 3rd, Minister of Cooperatives and Rural Development U La Mo met with representatives of the Russian Roscongress Investment Fund. The two sides discussed the specific arrangements for the completion and commissioning of the fertilizer plant within one year.
To ensure the supply of raw materials, the department has conducted on-site research and plans to purchase livestock waste from major breeding areas as raw materials for fertilizer production. The meeting also discussed the cooperation between the nine sunflower varieties provided by the Russian side and local agricultural cooperatives for trial planting, as well as the current progress in the production and application of foliar fertilizers.
It is reported that the natural fertilizers produced with Russian technology have the advantages of low cost and environmental friendliness. The application cost per mu is only about 10,000 to 15,000 Myanmar kyats, and they are beneficial to soil conservation.
According to the feedback from farmers in multiple areas and the agricultural department, the purity of the crops has improved after using this fertilizer, and the growth conditions of the plants have also been enhanced.
Currently, this natural fertilizer has been piloted and distributed in Naypyidaw, Bago, Magway, Mandalay, Irrawaddy Province and Shan State. Once the factory is completed, it will be arranged based on domestic production needs to ensure balanced supply and promotion.
