Organic Fertilizers

To achieve green agricultural development, the scientific and rational application of organic fertilizers plays a crucial role in protecting soil quality and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Organic fertilizers are carbon-containing organic materials derived primarily from plants and/or animals and produced through fermentation and decomposition. These fertilizers not only enhance soil fertility and improve soil structure but also precisely supply the nutrients required for plant growth, ultimately leading to improvements in both crop quality and yield.
1. Improving Soil Quality
Organic fertilizers increase the organic matter content in soil, enhancing its water retention, nutrient retention, and aeration capabilities, as well as its ability to regulate soil temperature. They boost soil activity and the capacity for biological reproduction and transformation, thereby improving the soil’s absorption, buffering, and stress-tolerance properties.
2. Increasing Crop Yields and Improving Agricultural Product Quality
Organic fertilizers provide comprehensive nutrition, containing a wide range of nutrients, trace elements, sugars, and fats essential for plants. Their use improves key quality indicators of fruits, such as moisture content, sugar levels, acidity, pectin, pigmentation, and aroma. Furthermore, most nutrients in organic fertilizers are present in organic forms. After being decomposed by microorganisms and converted into inorganic forms, they become available for crop uptake. This nutrient conversion and release process is relatively slow and sustained, resulting in balanced and long-lasting fertility. This not only increases crop yields but also helps improve quality, thereby enhancing the market competitiveness of the products.
3. Reducing Chemical Fertilizer Use and Promoting the Development of Circular Agriculture
Replacing a portion of chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers and coordinating a balanced application ratio between the two can reduce chemical fertilizer usage and improve fertilizer utilization efficiency. Using agricultural waste—such as crop straw, livestock manure, and aquaculture byproducts—as raw materials to produce organic fertilizers enables resource recycling and contributes to the development of circular agriculture.
