What kind of fertilizer should be used to improve the soil?

To improve soil quality, it is necessary to use fertilizers rich in organic matter. It is not advisable to only apply chemical fertilizers. Instead, combine the use of bio-bacterial fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, and farmyard manure, and take multiple measures such as returning straw to the field to increase the content of organic matter in the soil. For overly acidic or alkaline soil, it is necessary to first adjust the pH value to normal with quicklime or gypsum before applying fertilizers or planting.

There are various types of farmyard manure, such as livestock and poultry manure, including common ones like pig manure, chicken manure, cow and sheep manure, and human excrement and urine. Before application, it must be fully decomposed; otherwise, it may cause side effects such as burning seedlings.
Farmyard manure is suitable for all crops and all types of soil as base fertilizer. When combined with potassium humate from mineral sources at 2kg per mu, it will have a better and more advantageous effect on soil improvement. Generally, 2,000 to 3,000kg of farmyard manure is applied per mu for crops, and about 5,000kg per mu for vegetable crops.

Biological organic fertilizer combined with microbial fertilizer can also improve soil structure and enhance the utilization rate of chemical fertilizers. The dosage is about 100 to 200 kilograms per mu. The cost of commercial organic fertilizer is higher than that of homemade farmyard manure. Various kinds of cake fertilizers, such as soybean cake fertilizer and peanut cake fertilizer, each require about 100 to 200 kilograms per mu, which can significantly increase soil fertility.
Finally, please remember that improving the soil quality should primarily rely on organic fertilizers. The use of chemical fertilizers in combination is even better.
