The European Union has announced the suspension of tariffs on certain fertilizer products.
According to CCTV International News, the European Council issued a notice on May 22nd stating that the EU has decided to suspend the imposition of import tariffs on key nitrogen fertilizers such as urea and ammonia for one year, in order to alleviate the cost impact on EU agriculture caused by the war in the Middle East. Europe has a high dependence on fertilizer imports. The EU is concerned that the continuous high prices of related goods may disrupt this year's sowing schedule and have a chain effect on food production, thereby pushing up EU food prices.
