Allowing imported fertilizers to directly reach the fields, Yantai Customs has introduced convenient measures to assist in the "Three Summer Harvests" period.

"Spring is about competition for time, while summer is about competition for resources." Currently, it is a hot and rainy season. The "three summer" production in the city is advancing in a continuous manner. The summer harvest, sowing, and management are closely linked. Sowing corn, soybeans and other autumn crops is urgent. The demand for base fertilizer and topdressing fertilizer is increasing, and the import of chemical fertilizers has entered a crucial window period for the entire year.
On June 6th, 1,516 tons of potassium sulfate calcium magnesium imported by Yantai Haigang International Shipping Agency Co., Ltd. was unloaded from the "Gao Hong Sheng 2" vessel. After completing the customs supervision procedures, it was immediately transported to the surrounding major grain-producing areas and put into use in this year's "Three Summer Harvest" production.
As an important hub and distribution center for fertilizer imports and exports in northern China, recently a large volume of imported fertilizers has been arriving at the Yantai port, which has placed higher demands on the customs clearance efficiency. To firmly receive this "expectation from the fields" and ensure the stable supply of domestic fertilizers and support agricultural production, the Yantai Customs of Qingdao Customs has taken the initiative to provide proactive services. They have explained the preferential tariff policies to fertilizer import enterprises, promptly grasped the import demands, guided enterprises to make standardized declarations, and promptly coordinated and resolved difficult issues. After the ships arrived at the port, the Yantai Customs relied on the intelligent telecommunication quarantine mode to quickly handle the customs clearance procedures for the ships, and strengthened communication and cooperation with the port and other parties to smooth out the connection bottlenecks in the logistics process, ensuring that the imported fertilizers can be cleared and circulated quickly.
"We take advantage of the 'green channel' to enjoy measures such as advance customs clearance and priority inspection. After the goods arrive at the port, the inspection can be carried out immediately, reducing the customs clearance and release time and saving us a lot of costs," said Zheng Haitao, the business department manager of Yantai Port International Shipping Agency Co., Ltd.
"Given the concentrated import of agricultural supplies during the 'Three Summer Harvest' period and the high requirements for timeliness, we have implemented preferential procedures for reviewing and inspecting imported agricultural supplies. We also arrange personnel to be on duty during holidays and at night to ensure that supplies can be inspected and released immediately upon arrival, achieving 'zero delay' in customs clearance. " Qu Yuanyuan, the director of the Comprehensive Business Section of the Port Office of Yantai Customs, explained. The customs has also implemented a series of convenient measures such as "advance declaration" and "on-site direct pick-up", to ensure the supply of agricultural supplies for the 'Three Summer Harvest' production, and to fully serve national food security and stable agricultural production and income growth.
