The Four Levels of Fertilizers
You can think of it this way:
Compost = The foundation of soil health | Organic Fertilizer = Long-term nutrition ⚡ Compound Fertilizer = Quick boost | Bio-fertilizer = Soil activator
① Compost | The “Starting Point” for Soil
What it is: A “soil-like substance” produced by the fermentation and decomposition of kitchen scraps, fallen leaves, and crop straw.
Functions: Improves soil structure, enhances water retention, and fosters a healthy microbial environment
In a nutshell: Compost isn’t for feeding plants—it’s for nourishing the soil
② Organic Fertilizer | Long-Term Nourishment System
Common Types: Cow manure, sheep manure, chicken manure, soybean meal
Functions: Slowly releases nutrients, boosts soil fertility, and improves crop quality
In a nutshell: Organic fertilizer is your long-term food ticket
③ Compound Fertilizer | Rapid Nutrient Supplement
Functions: Promotes rapid leaf and branch growth; accelerates recovery
In a nutshell: Compound fertilizer is an “accelerator.”
④ Biofertilizer | Activates the Soil System
Core Principle: It doesn’t directly supply nutrients; instead, it “helps plants absorb them.”
Functions: Improves fertilizer utilization; promotes root development; ️ suppresses certain diseases
In a nutshell: Biofertilizer is the soil’s “engine.”
