The best combination for grape bottom fertilizer (base fertilizer)

Core of grape bottom fertilizer: mainly organic fertilizer, combined with microbial agents, phosphate fertilizer, trace elements, and a small amount of compound fertilizer. Do not use chemical fertilizers alone as the bottom fertilizer.

Optimal application time: after harvest and before leaf fall (the best effect is achieved when applying base fertilizer in autumn). In the south, it is from October to November; in the north, it is from September to October. Try not to apply the bottom fertilizer in spring.

✅ Best formula (for mature vine orchards, one acre)

1. Organic fertilizer (first choice)

- Farmyard manure: fully decomposed sheep manure 2000-3000 kilograms (sheep manure is better than chicken manure; chicken manure has high salt content, use with caution).

- Commercial organic fertilizer: 800-1000 kilograms, must be qualified and fully decomposed.

⚠️Raw manure must not be used; it will burn the roots and carry pests and pathogenic bacteria.

2. Microbial agents (the type you saw before like Wan Rui Guede)

Apply 80-120 kilograms of microbial agents/bio-organic fertilizer per acre.

Function: anti-rot, soil improvement, adjust pH, promote new roots, reduce root rot, increase fertilizer utilization rate, must be added for old orchards and acidic soil, and must be mixed with organic fertilizer for application, doubling the effect.

3. Phosphate fertilizer (the most important fertilizer for the bottom layer)

Calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer 50-80 kilograms (the best choice for acidic soil in the south; also adjusts acidity and provides calcium); in the north, use superphosphate.

4. Trace elements

Grapes are particularly deficient in calcium, magnesium, boron, and zinc; bury them together in the bottom layer to reduce cracking and size differences in the later stage.

5. Small amount of compound fertilizer

Balanced potassium sulfate compound fertilizer 20-30 kilograms; do not use compound fertilizer as the bottom layer fertilizer in large quantities, to avoid salt damage to the roots.
